Sierra Leone’s First Lady, Fatima Maada Bio, has lost a taxpayer-funded council flat in London after a local authority found it was not being used as her primary residence, British media reported.

Southwark Council ended the tenancy following a review prompted by reporting from The Times, which raised questions over her eligibility to retain the subsidised housing.
Council homes in Britain are typically reserved for residents in need who occupy them as their main residence.
Bio had reportedly kept the flat while primarily living in Freetown with her husband, President Julius Maada Bio, since he took office in 2018.
She has previously said she paid rent and did not breach any rules.
The council said the property would be returned to the social housing pool. Officials in Sierra Leone did not immediately comment. :
