Both Adikali and Yansaneh you mentioned as in the know; when Momoh received the parcel from Adikali; are veritable sources still alive; to had given weight to Golley’s claim.
If Golley’s claim is true; that this donation to Momoh was in 95; then it would’ve been misplaced bcos, it should’ve been handed over to Eddie Turay and SAT Koroma; then leaders of the APC party.
By 95, Momoh was out of politics; and it was a time when he was going thru very difficult times; an operation in Guinea that went awry, denied his military, parliamentary and head of state benefits by Kabbah; houses confiscated etc. And even when he came back, his close Ekutay brothers; couldn’t lodge him including Ben Kanu. It was only Dauda Kamara from Tonko; that harboured the sick Momoh.
And if Golley claims; that the parcel was handed over to Momoh when Yansaneh was his personal assistant; then how could he had done so in 95; when Momoh was overthrown by the NPRC in 92?
By 96 elections, Golley claims most people left the APC; but the party was not at the time under the auspices of Momoh; but Eddie and able-bodied spokesman Ibrahim Hadiru Kaloko; the elder brother of Fode Kaloko, the organizing secretary; who died in a gruesome road accident; just before EBK won. How then, did Golley identified himself with the APC in 96; when Yansaneh ( had joined another party), and Adikali might definitely deny his claim.
Golley sounds more holier than the Pope; in his claim that it was the only party he knows to this very day; when he knows; that this is not true. Golley joined the Strasser regime; that pulled him and his brother Jerome and father Judge Golley Snr; out of bankruptcy. And it was under the RUF; that he registered mining companies to exploit our diamonds under rebel control. By 95 to 96 elections; the two popular parties were the UNPP and SLPP; and Dr John Karefa-Smart defeated Kabbah; but Bio gave victory to his SLPP party; even though, he said he was wearing a different green at the time.
How then, can Golley be the most committed APC member; against the true democrats like: Zainab Bangura, Paul Kamara, Amy Smythe et al; who were at the forefront of the 96 democratic struggle? How about Paul Kamara; the sacrificial lamb who was gunned down by the Bio junta?
And how can Golley say he has maintained the dignity of the party; when a branch of the SLPP overthrew the APC; and the other branch, led by Sankoh, Golley and Others; waged war against the APC? Did Golley not glorify the RUF; and told Maskita to comb the bush bcos Ruf was fighting for power? Did Sankoh not fall out with Golley; when he realized he was dishonest and exploiter?
At one time, was Golley and SAJ Musa not arrested by Guinean sojas at the border; when they touched down on a chopper; bcos he was backing SAJ Musa at the time to overthrow the AFRC-RUF? So, how can Golley claim to so loved the APC; that he gave donation to the wrong outfit; and hands-in-glove with those who’d removed the APC from power? Why can’t he revive the RUF party; where he rightfully belongs?
I can go on and on; but suffice it to say that; those who seek equity must come with clean hands. And that we cannot sit by; whilst Golley and others try to distort history. Saloneans suffered a lot; and time for the nation to reconcile and heal it’s wounds. But those who wish to stand to be APC leader; must ensure their record is clean and impeccable.
