Ibrahim Koroma, a 26 year old builder, has on Thursday 26th September 2024 sentenced to a jail term of 40 months Imprisonment by Magistrate Santigie Bangura of Pademba road court No 2 for stealing meter cables valued NLe 25, 860.
The convict made his first appearance in court and was charged with one count of Larceny contrary to section 2 of the Larceny Act of 1916.
According to the particulars of offence on the 7th August 2024 at Bio Drive Spur loop Wilberforce, the western Area in Freetown did steal four 2.5 Mille meter electrical cables, two roll 4 mille meter electrical and other assorted items equivalent to the total sum of twenty five thousand eight hundred and sixty Leones(25,860) property of Emmanuel Waddie Konssa.
When the charge was read and explained to the accused person, he pleaded guilty.
The prosecutor Sergeant 8811 Florence M Wilson told the Magistrate that there was no previous criminal records against the accused person.
The accused was not legally represented and he pleaded with the magistrate to temper justice with mercy on his behalf.
Due to the plea mitigation by the accused person and because he was a first time offender, he didn’t waste the court’s time, Magistrate Bangura therefore sentenced him to three years six months imprisonment to the male correctional facility in Freetown.
