The All People’s Congress (APC) has announced that its lower-level constituency elections will be held nationwide on May 16, according to a public notice issued by the party’s national secretariat.
The party said the exercise will involve its general membership, aspirants, delegates and other stakeholders, as part of internal processes to strengthen its grassroots structures.
In the notice dated April 13, the APC urged all interested members to submit completed applications by April 30, giving the secretariat sufficient time to process entries, publish the list of contestants and circulate candidate lists to relevant party bodies.
The party said the timeline was also intended to avoid delays or disputes during the electoral process.
The elections will engage several party organs, including the National Advisory Committee, National Executive Committee, regional executives, district executives, constituency executives and ward-level structures.
The APC emphasised that the process must adhere to principles of transparency, fairness and credibility.
Internal party elections are seen as a key step in consolidating party organisation ahead of future national political activities in Sierra Leone.
