The Government of Sierra Leone has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with private sector partners, including TAF Africa Global, Shelta and Shelter Afrique, to develop affordable housing and student accommodation across the country.

The agreement sets out a framework for a public-private partnership aimed at reducing the country’s housing deficit and addressing infrastructure gaps in tertiary institutions.
Under the terms of the deal, the government will provide land and regulatory support, while the private partners will contribute financing and technical expertise to implement large-scale construction projects.
Officials said the initiative is expected to expand access to decent housing and improve living conditions for students, as demand continues to outstrip supply in urban centres and university communities.
