The Sierra Leone Football Association has strongly condemned the violence that disrupted the Orange FA Cup 2026 quarter-final clash between Star Sports Academy and East End Lions, forcing the match to be abandoned in the 86th minute following a pitch invasion at the SLFA Academy Field in Freetown.

In an official press release issued on Monday, May 4, the Association described the scenes as “disturbing,” stressing that such acts of indiscipline and lawlessness have no place in football.
The SLFA confirmed that a full investigation is already underway, with decisive disciplinary action expected against all individuals found culpable.
“Incidents of this nature not only endanger lives but also bring the game into disrepute,” the statement noted, reaffirming football’s core values of respect, rules, and sportsmanship.
