$7,000 Theft At  Kei Kamara’s House: Father, Wife and Daughter Remanded

Abubakarr Turay, his wife Fatmata Bangura and their daughter Kadiatu Turay were yesterday remanded in prison by  Magistrate Sahr Kekura Sahr Kekura for allegedly stealing $7,000 at the premises of Kei Kamara a prominent Sierra Leonean international  footballer who plies in trade in the US .

Court said all accused persons were staying in the house as care takers.

The accused persons were arraigned before the court on two count charges; of conspiracy contrary to law and Larceny contrary to section 2 of the larceny act of 1916.

The prosecutor said that the accused  persons on Wednesday 15th  January, 2025 at Fadika drive, Hill station,  Freetown, ‘’conspired together to commit a crime to wit larceny.’’

The indictment said that all  accused persons on the same day and place did steal the sum of seven thousand United States Dollars  ($7,000) ; an equivalent to one hundred and seventy thousand,  one hundred Leones, ‘’a  property of Kei Kamara.’’

 The first accused Abubakarr Turay pleaded not guilty of the offense but her wife, Fatmata Bangura and daughter, Kadiatu Turay pleaded guilty of the offense.

At this juncture, the Police Prosecutor, Assistant Superintendent of Police Aminatu Daboh sought for an adjournment that her witnesses were absent in court.

The accused perssons were unrepresented by a Lawyer and as such no bail application was made on their behalf.

They were remanded in custody and the matter comes up again on 29th January 2025 .
