Freetown, Sierra Leone – Isata Bindi has been committed to the High Court by Magistrate Mustapha Briama Jah of Pademba Road Court No. 1 for trial over the alleged killing of her husband, Mustapha Bangura, during a domestic altercation.
The incident reportedly occurred on April 2, 2025, at the couple’s residence on Williams Drive, off Aberdeen Road in Freetown. Bindi was charged with manslaughter and first appeared in court on May 13, 2025.
During the preliminary investigation, the prosecution led evidence through three witnesses, all of whom were cross-examined. Magistrate Jah said their testimonies were consistent and established sufficient grounds for trial.

The matter has now been formally transferred for trial, where further evidence, including exhibits from the senior crime officer, will be presented.
