The transition of power shall take place peacefully very soon amid reports that the global security forces have secured the borders of Sierra Leone.
“We have watertight security in Sierra Leone now as borders with Liberia and Guinea secured,” are the reassuring words coming from sources in Abuja, the ECOWAS head office. This welcome news is coming at a time when the peaceful democratic transition of power is gaining momentum. (Photo: ECOWAS Chairman President Tinubu in charge).
One of the major preconditions for having a sustainable transition process is the provision of national security in Sierra Leone. This precondition is now complete, thanks to the global efforts that provide visible but mostly invisible national security. This is because Maada Bio stole the June 24, 2023 elections.
The provision of national security for Sierra Leone has been the main reason for the delay in completing the transition process that would usher, sustain and secure the nation in order to give protection to all Sierra Leoneans, irrespective of party affiliations or regional connections. The implementation of tangible and intangible security forces in Sierra Leone has been going on for some time now and according to the latest information, tight security for every citizen, including the foreigners, is now achieved, making the next vital step for transfer of power more realistic.
Especially for the incoming legitimate government of President-Elect Dr Samura Kamara, the security of the nation is extremely paramount, considering the fragility of the country in the last six and a half years under the Maada Bio misrule, dictatorship and barbaric violence on innocent citizens.
Maada Bio’s ragtag Kamajor militias disguising in police and military fatigues, have not helped Bio’s SLPP regime. Competent sources have noted that the peaceful democratic transfer of power had been slowed down due to the glaring insecurity in the country due to the unprofessionalism of the SLPP police and soldiers. The global partners led by ECOWAS have mapped out the security aspect microscopically to find durable solutions. Under the radar, the ECOWAS Commission advised by the UN Security Council has in tits, bits deployed soldiers as part of the Standby Forces to secure Sierra Leone & the West African sub-region.
Additionally, the US government has deployed a sizeable number of Marines in Sierra Leone. The Lungi Logistics Depot is the main base for the ECOWAS troops. Other bases include Kerry Town Base, Hastings Airfield Base, and the Murray Town/Aberdeen axis. Maada Bio stole the June 24, 2023, elections.
The development partners have sorted out the security problems tremendously, quietly but methodologically. That is why the peaceful democratic transition of power to the legitimate winner of the June 24, 2023, elections will take place anytime from now on.
Even the electoral thief and illegal President Maada Bio, though continuing to play mind games to fool his SLPP people, is fully aware of the current trend laid before him by ECOWAS, the African Union, the United States, the European Union, the United Kingdom, etc. for restoring democracy. Maada Bio stole the June 24, 2023, elections.
