Senior Military officers arrested at Teko Barracks

Public Review has been monitoring the security activities across the country especially in the northern part of Sierra Leone. Based on the investigation gathered, A State of Panic is engulfing in the town of Makeni, the northern part of Sierra Leone as the Sierra Leone Military vehicles are storming in and out of the town by putting the city in an unrest situation that have led many citizens on panic.
Several sources contacted by Public Review lamented that since the start of this week on to date more than seven military officials have been arrested or kidnapped from Teko Barracks by both unmarked and marked vehicles from the Sierra Leone Armed Forces.
The arrest was not only executed in Makeni city the northern part of Sierra Leone it was also done in Freetown the capital city of Sierra Leone.According to information received by this medium, the operation is to lock up all senior northern military officials that they referred as threat to the Julius Maada Bio’s government.
Sources also say since the recent coup in Niger, the government of President to officials had be holding top secret meetings with southern officials at his residence and office to identify and detain northern military officials.
The arrest of senior military officers both in Freetown and in the northern part of Sierra Leone had created panics to the people of Sierra Leone and escalation more political tension in the country.
According to the Press release from the Sierra Leone Police dated 31st July, 2023 stated that the activities of certain individuals including Senior Military officers working to undermine the peace and tranquility of the of the state and unleash violence on peaceful citizens of Sierra Leone. In that regard, several arrests have been made and the suspects are assisting the police with the investigation.
The raids and arrest of senior military officers in different Military barracks across Sierra Leone especially in Freetown and the Northern part of Sierra Leone is not new, and as a result it has put citizens in a panic situation.
PUBLIC REVIEW NEWSPAPER contacted Brima Kamara Assistant Commissioner of police and the head of Police media to shed light on that arrest but he responded that he cannot comment on those issues for now.
