The Soso tribe people of Sierra Leone and Guinea have gathered in Kambia to celebrate their rich cultural heritage under the distinguished patronage of Her Excellency Dr. Fatima Maada Bio, the First Lady of the Republic of Sierra Leone.
The event was led by Soso Chief Alhaji Daawa Soumah from Forécariah in Guinea and Paramount Chief Bai Shebora Yek II of Samu.
Speaking at the event, H.E First Lady Fatima Maada Bio expressed gratitude and delight in being part of an auspicious traditional and tribal gathering. She expressed immense thanks and admiration for Dr. Yumkella, referring to him as a reliable ally and a brother to her and her husband. Fatima Bio used the occasion to call on the Guinean authorities to settle the ongoing fracas with Sierra Leoneans in Guinea amicably. She stated that, President Bio is committed to ending the issue and that, Guinea and Sierra Leone have so much in common than borders and languages.
Honorable Dr. Kandeh Kolleh Yumkella was in the spotlight, joined by key government officials including Minister of Finance Ahmed Sheku Fantamadi Bangura and Sierra Leone’s Ambassador to Guinea Alimamy Bangura. The event also saw the participation of opposition APC strongman Ambassador Yansaneh, illustrating a spirit of collaboration across political lines.
The celebration showcased the Soso community’s commitment to unity and love, transcending political party affiliations and national boundaries. Through traditional music, dance, and cultural exhibitions, the Soso people highlighted their shared heritage and the enduring brotherhood between Sierra Leone and Guinea.
This gathering not only honored their rich traditions but also served as a beacon of hope for continued cooperation and harmony between the two nations.
