Looking at the pitiful shambles and capitulation of the opposition, President Maada Bio boastfully declared today that in 2028 the SLPP will become the first political party ever in Sierra Leone to win three terms in a row.
The loud- mouthed and loquacious President with the broken English and awkward intonation must have known what he was standing on to have made such a sweeping and unrealistic declaration .
First of all, Bio knows what he has done to the opposition, civil society, media and integrity institutions in Sierra Leone and he must have been talking from that perspective, already predicting an easy ride for his party.
Or it could be that the clandestine support he is getting from the U.S Millennium Challenge Corporation and corrupt sections of the international community and ECOWAS have gone into his head and he feels that , with the APC selling out to him through the bogus Tripartite Committee and allowing him to get away with boldly stealing the 2023 elections, he can pull another fast one on the nation by hijacking the 2028 elections .
But wise heads should arise and warn the impetuous, saucy, provocative , pompous and illegitimate President to beware. Man can grow wings that have the capacity to propel him to the skies, but he is not God, can never be God and cannot talk about the future with reckless and disdainful alacrity.
Bio must know that there is a God and he has his own purposes that are different from man’s .God’s purposes are fair, honest and immutable. Proverbs 16: 9 teaches us that a man deviseth his way but God directs his paths. God has the capacity to prevent people from successfully carrying out their plans, even those that are carefully crafted or deceitful. It highlights God’s power and sovereignty , which people like Maada Bio do not recognize.
How even sure is Maada Bio that he will be alive in 2028 ? How sure is Maada Bio that the APC might not overcome its problems and put up a revolutionary flagbearer who might not brook nonsense from him this time ? What about the people ? Has Bio contended with the fact that they too might have different purposes in mind for 2028 ? Does this perversely – speaking fake Brigadier think that the people will continue to roll over and play dead in Sierra Leone ?
You do not know, Mr. illegal President . Even support from the MCC and ECOWAS are not enough to make you cheat and steal another election if the people decide that enough is enough, unless of course you are looking for war in Sierra Leone.But as we also know from the Bible, a man who devises wicked plans will eat the fruits thereof. Maada Bio, remember Samuel K. Doe and Sani Abacha.
The Bible contains harrowing tales of pompous leaders who became so powerful that they thought they were God. Maada Bio , do these names mean something to you ? They faced destruction due to their disobedience and wickedness. Ahab, a king of Israel, is known for his idolatry and cruelty, leading to divine judgment. Similarly, Manasseh, a king of Judah, engaged in extensive idolatry and evil practices, also facing God’s consequences. Other examples include Nadab, Baasha, Elah, and Zimri, all of Israelite kings who met untimely and often violent ends. What about Herod ? What about Nebuchadnezzar?
Maada Bio, we do not believe that SLPP will win the 2028 elections and become the first political party ever to win three terms in a row in Sierra Leone. Everybody in Sierra Leone is fed up with you and your irredeemably corrupt, inept, tribalistic and useless government. Everybody is crying for change. So, be careful how you boast about 2028, unless you are planning trouble, which might boomerang on you .
