The Government of Sierra Leone, through the National Public Health Agency (NPHA), has released its latest Mpox update, confirming eight new infections and 87 recoveries as of Monday, June 30, 2025.
The country’s cumulative confirmed Mpox cases now stand at 4,489, with 3,950 recoveries and 29 deaths recorded since the outbreak began. The current number of active cases is 510, according to the 3:00 PM update.
Western Urban remains the hardest-hit district with 2,583 confirmed cases, followed by Western Rural (901) and Bombali (257). Other affected districts include Port Loko (165), Kenema (116), and Kono (87).
Smaller case numbers were recorded in districts like Pujehun (13), Kailahun (14), and Karene (21), reflecting uneven distribution across the country.
The gender distribution shows 2,349 cases in males and 2,140 in females, indicating a near-equal spread of the virus between genders.
Authorities continue to urge the public to stay vigilant, practice proper hygiene, and report symptoms early. Citizens are encouraged to contact the national emergency hotline by calling 117 for Mpox-related concerns or suspected cases.
