Sierra Leone’s Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has launched an investigation into the director of the Sierra Leone Law School following a formal complaint, the agency said on Monday.
The ACC said it received the complaint from the Council of Legal Education, which oversees the Sierra Leone Law School, against its director, Dr. Abu Bakarr Bangura.
“The Commission wishes it to be known that it has commenced an investigation into the matter, which it hopes to conclude within a month, with the full cooperation of all parties,” the ACC said in a statement.
It did not disclose details of the allegations.
The ACC urged all parties involved to cooperate fully with investigators and reaffirmed its commitment to tackling corruption in the country’s public sector.
Sierra Leone has in recent years stepped up efforts to combat corruption, which remains a key concern for governance and economic development
