Sierra Leone’s Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has issued a strong warning to staff of the National Civil Registration Authority (NCRA) in Kenema, urging adherence to integrity, professionalism, and accountability, officials said on Tuesday.

The warning follows complaints from the public regarding alleged lapses in conduct and service delivery at the authority. ACC Regional Director Hawanatu O. Kamara stressed that public office is a trust, and any breach could result in investigation and prosecution under the Anti-Corruption Act.

“The ACC prioritises prevention through public education and institutional support, but we do not hesitate to act when necessary,” Kamara said.

The engagement included a briefing on key provisions of the 2008 Anti-Corruption Act, highlighting offences such as bribery, abuse of office, and conspiracy, and their legal consequences.

NCRA Regional Registration Officer Sama V. Sama welcomed the intervention, pledging to address the concerns raised and uphold ethical standards among staff.
