As African Nation and Club football take a centre stage across the continent, Sierra Leone officials get numerous designations
Seven (7) football officials from Sierra Leone have been designated by CAF and FIFA to serve as referees and Match Commissioners in different club and nation competitions across Africa this weekend and next.
The following are the match officials and their respective CAF/FIFA designations;
1. Sanusi Rashid- Referee Assessor in the 2022 World Cup Qatar Qualifier between Gabon vs. Egypt on Sunday 5th September, 2021.
2. Prince Kai Sa’Quee- Match Commissioner in the 2022 World Cup Qatar Qualifier between Liberia vs. Central African Republic on Monday 6th September, 2021. Sa’Quee has also been put in charge of commissioning the TotalEnergies CAF Confederations Cup encounter between Monrovia Club Breweries FC from Liberia and BINGA FC from Mali on Sunday the 19th September, 2021 in Douala, Cameroon.
3. Sullay Kamara- Match Commissioner in the TotalEnergies CAF Confederations Cup match between Rivers United FC from Nigeria and Young Africans from Tanzania on Sunday the 19th September, 2021 in Nigeria.
4. Swahib Bangura, Micheal Conteh, Ibrahim Bah and Raymond Adeyemi Coker (Quartet)- Central Referee, Assistant Referees 1 & 2 and Fourth Official respectively in the TotalEnergies CAF Confederations Cup clash between ASAC Concorde of Mauritania and ASKC of Togo on Sunday the 19th September, 2021 in Mauritania.
Speaking to this medium, the SLFA Referees Manager- Mohamed Bowen Freeman expressed delight that “Sierra Leonean referees and match commissioners have fully caught the attention of CAF and FIFA to be assigned for top matches in Africa”. *“This is as a result of the hard work and high level of professionalism put up by our officials each time they are on duty”. Freeman said.
He added that “we shall continue work hard until we reach at the biggest stages of world Football”.
