On Friday, January 24, 2024, the Government of Sierra Leone, through the National Public Health Agency (NPHA), confirmed a total of 14 Mpox cases in the country. The latest case was reported in Tonkolili District, Northern Sierra Leone.
The NPHA announced that one patient has recovered from the virus, with no death recorded at this time. The gender distribution of the confirmed cases is noted as 3 females and 11 males, with the highest concentrations found in Tonkolili and Western Urban regions.
In light of these developments, the NPHA urges the public to remain vigilant and adhere to necessary precautionary measures to prevent further spread of the virus.
