Parliamentary Delegation from Sierra Leone Arrives in Morocco

A high-level parliamentary delegation from Sierra Leone, led by Speaker of the House, Hon. Sengepoh Solomon Thomas, has arrived in Rabat, Morocco, on 5th February 2025.

 The move is to participate in the meeting of Speakers of Parliaments of Atlantic African States.

‘’This meeting, scheduled to take place from the 5th to the 8th of February 2025, aims to foster collaboration, share best practices, and address key issues facing Parliaments across the African continent. The delegation was received by the Deputy Speaker of the Moroccan Parliament, Mohammed Touimi Benjelloun.’’ Sierra Leone’s Press Secretary to Morocco told Public review .

According to her, the event will bring together ‘’parliamentary leaders from across Africa to discuss issues crucial to the continent’s governance, including regional integration, economic development, and the strengthening of maritime security. The gathering also supports the Royal Atlantic Initiative, which seeks to enhance cooperation among Atlantic African States, focusing on economic complementarities, sustainable resource management, and strategic investments.’’

Sierra Leone’s participation in the event is expected to further bolster bilateral relations between Sierra Leone and Morocco and strengthen the parliamentary ties between both nations.

It will also provide a platform for advancing mutual interests and reinforcing Sierra Leone’s commitment to regional integration, security, and sustainable development within the African geopolitical space.

The delegation was received by the Deputy Speaker of the Moroccan Parliament.
