In the past couple of days I was reflecting on my life’s journey and how far God has brought me. I recalled some of the words thrown at me because I was single with no biological child and was ‘overdue’.
On a particular occasion while attending a wedding, I bumped into someone and had this direct exchange.
Person: “Kumba are you married now”?
Me: No!
Person: when are you getting married?
(And without even giving me time to respond this person proceeded) “Any fruit way don rep, if den nor pick am e go fodom n rotten” ( translation: If a fruit is ripe and not harvested, it will fall off and rot).
I was left speechless and could only say within myself “What a bold statement”?
Many times we find ourselves in situations that people see us and call us “overdue”for that position; to have a child; to build your own house or have a car; for marriage etc. but they have no idea, or fail to consider that God could very well be working out His purpose behind the scene. In the eyes of men you are “ripe and ready for harvest” but in the eyes of God you’re being processed to become an amazing end product, fit for the market.
Men will not understand and cannot determine how long the processing might take, but be rest assured that when the manufacturer is finished processing you, the product will be a wonder to behold, and everyone will know that “this is the LORD’S doing; it is marvellous in our eyes. Psalm 118:23 KJV
As we go this week don’t forget that pure gold has to be put through a process in the hands of the refiner or the goldsmith. Don’t be too concerned about the comments and shades men will throw at you. Keep your faith and be assured God’s got your back. Always look “.. unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:2(KJB).
Don’t forget to smile coz it looks good on you.
Please feel free to share.
God bless you.
