Orange Money Sierra Leone has on Thursday 18th January 2024, signed a partnership agreement with 12 insurance companies in the country , including National Insurance Company, Staco, International Insurance company and others.
This partnership according to the company aims at providing a convenient way for customers to pay for their motor insurance through orange money.
The Managing Director of National Insurance Company Arthur Yaskey expressed his satisfaction with the development, stating that that partnering with orange money was a positive move for the insurance industry.
He emphasized the convenience of paying for motor insurance through the mobile money platform
Sierra Leone Insurance Commission (SLICOM) representative , Raymond Macaulay said that insurance companies are now regulated by SLIA, which had been form years before. “This regulatory body will ensure that the insurance companies adhere to the required standard and guidelines” he assured.
Chairman of the Association, Ambassador Alie Bangura told the audience that partnering with orange mobile money for payment of insurance through orange money will ease the tension of working long distances to the insurance companies’ offices to pay.
He also added that it was a milestone they took and they had reached the final journey.
He furthered that they had started with motor insurance, but as they moved they looked at other insurance covers.
He disclosed that Sierra Leone is the first African country that has gone digital in insurance business.
The CEO Orange mobile money, David Mansaray, expressed readiness and willingness to partner with the insurance companies.
He assured the customers, especially insurance brokers that they will received the best service, underscoring their commitment to maintain a long lasting relationship.
The partnership between Orange Money and the insurance companies is expected to simplify insurance payment processes and provide customers with amore convenient and efficient experience.
