The Office of the Presidential Initiative on Climate Change, Renewable Energy, and Food Security, in collaboration with key Ministries, is hosting the second edition of the 2-day Climate Resilience and Energy Transition Dialogue (CRET2024) at the Bintumani Conference Center in Freetown.
The Dialogue convenes over 400 stakeholders from the public and private sectors in energy, climate, health, agriculture, and other productive sectors of the economy, as well as representatives from CSOs and Academia.
The objectives of the Dialogue include emphasizing the need for long-term energy transition investments, access to modern energy cooking services, integrating food systems resilience into the Feed Salone Programme, climate financing and funding locally led climate action, and unlocking renewable energy investment opportunities in Sierra Leone, among others.
During the Dialogue, it is anticipated that the Just Energy Transition and Green Growth Plan will be launched, along with other fundamental energy transformation plans.
