The Ministry of Social Welfare has formally discharged 40 rehabilitated drug addicts, designating them as Brand Ambassadors in a move aimed at strengthening community outreach and advocacy on substance abuse prevention and recovery.
The ceremony, held this week, marked a key milestone in the government’s efforts to promote reintegration, reduce stigma, and harness the experiences of recovered individuals as agents of change in their communities.
The newly appointed Brand Ambassadors will support public awareness campaigns, peer mentoring, and collaborative community initiatives to educate youth and families on the dangers of drug abuse and the importance of rehabilitation and support.
The initiative aligns with broader national strategies to enhance human capital development and foster community resilience against substance misuse.
