Ibrahim Sankoh a 29 years old hospital cleaner was on Tuesday 11th February 2025 sent on remand by Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Pademba Road court No.1 for allegedly stealing over 100 boxes of medicines at the cost recovery pharmacy at the Cannaught hospital.
The accused who made his first appearance was arraigned on a count charge of ‘’Larceny by Servant contrary to section 17 (4) of the larceny Act 1916.’’
According to the particulars of offence; on Thursday 16th January 2025 at the Cost Recovery Pharmacy, Cannaught Government Hospital Percival Street in Freetown.
According to the Court, the accused, being a cleaner, and employed by Recovery Pharmacy stole fifty boxes of Immuno Boost capsules, one hundred boxes of Azithromycin tablets, forty boxes of Well Woman 50plus capsules and other assorted items equivalent to the total value of ninety three thousand nine hundred Leones(93,900) Property of Fatmata Binta Bah .
When the charge was read and explained to the accused person, he didn’t take any plea.
The Prosecutor Sergeant 9939 Mohamed Lahai informed the Court that his witnesses were absent and therefore could not proceed in the circumstance requested for an adjournment.
Magistrate Kekura refused bail to the accused person to the Male Correctional facility in Freetown while the matter was adjourned to the 19th February 2025.
