Maya sheik Kaikai a Geologist has on Thursday 8th February 2024 sent on remand by Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Pademba Road Court No.1 for the alleged murder of one Fatmata Kamara Koroma.
The accused made his first appearance in court and was arraigned on two counts charges of Conspiracy and Murder contrary to section 1 of offence Against the person Act 1861 as repealed and replaced with section 1 (a) to the section of the Abolition of Death Penalty Act 2022, Act 6 of 2022.
According to the particulars of offence on Saturday 26th August 2023, at Falls cape Garden Goderich Freetown conspired together with other person unknown to commit a felony to wit Murder.
Whiles count two added that the accused on the same date and place Murdered Fatmata Kamara Koroma.
When the charge was read and explained to the accused person No plea was taken.
The prosecutor Assistant Superintendent of police Ibrahim S Mansaray informed the Bench that his witnesses were absent and he therefore sought for a short adjournment to subpoena them.
No legal representation was made on behalf of the accused.
Magistrate Kekura however sent the accused person to the male correctional center in Freetown and the matter was adjourned to the 16th February 2024.
