After months of work,the Edel Grass Project has finally handed over the Kenema City Field to the Sierra Leone Football Association following a successful installation of the artificial turf.
The Contractor, Eden Grass from Holland handed over the project to SLFA and advised that the FA ensure standard utilization and get security to man the field and protect the pitch.
 He emphasized the costly state of the project.
SLFA General Secretary Mr. Christophe Kamara, held a meeting with the Sierra Leone Police in Kenema and agreed to provide armed security for the field during the day and night.
The Project was officially launched by Madam Isha Johansen, a year ago.
The Sierra Leone Football Association is now set for the official commissioning of the field, whilst the installation of the perimeter fence and the solar light will kick-start early next month under the leadership of Madam Isha Johansen who remains passionate and undistracted to develop football across Sierra Leone.
During their statements, the Edel Grass Contractors Mark Jonkers and Roman Kuttschreutter both advised the Kenema people to own the project as the duration of the turf spans to twenty-five (25) years.
On behalf of the people of Kenema District, the Chairman of the Kenema District Football Association, Dennis NgothoLassana, praised the Sierra Leone Football Association for such a timely development.
Witnessing the official handing over ceremony after the completion of the Edel Grass Project, were the following officials from the Sierra Leone Football Association: Christopher Kamara, General Secretary; Mohamed Benson Bawoh, Head of Cooperate Affairs; and LaminTarawallie, Media and Communications Officer.
The SLFA is optimistic of formally commissioning the project in the shortest possible time.
