DEiK Board Chairman for Sierra Leone, Mr. Fatih Altunbaş, together with his delegation, has paid a courtesy visit on His Excellency Mohamed Hassan Kaisamba, and has discussed plans to increase Turkish Trade Relations with Sierra Leone.
DEiK is the Foreign Economic Relations Board of Türkiye assigned with the tasks of organising and manage the foreign economic relations of the Turkish private sector, in particular with respect to foreign trade, international investments, services, contracting and logistics; to analyse investment opportunities at home and abroad.
Mr. Fatih, who has just been elected Board Chairman for Sierra Leone, thanked the leadership of Ambassador Mohamed Hassan Kaisamba and his team at the Embassy, saying that there were a lot of Turkish investing in Sierra Leone. He noted that the Bread Factory that is being runned by the Sonoco in Freetown, The installation of traffic safety in Freetown, the Turkish Stihl factory, among many others, were testament of the friendly relationship between the two country.
“We are happy to work for the future of Sierra Leone. A lot of other investors in Hospital Systems of Electronic Patients Checkup, Building Materials, Machines and Installation of Big Plants, are ready to extablish their businesses in Sierra Leone. I look forward to working with you in these areas”, Mr. Fatih noted.
On his path, Ambassador Mohamed Hassan Kaisamba thanked Mr. Fatih and his delegation, saying that Sierra Leone is open for business and for the exploration of business opportunities. He noted that the government of President Julius Maada Bio was in a hurry to deliver of his mandate to his people, expecially in Agriculture, Infrastructural development, Technology, and youth employment.
“We are planning to do a big Turkish Expo in Sierra Leone that will bring and showcase Turkish Business Opportunities. My team and I at the Embassy are more than ready to give support and forster development in our country”, Ambassador Kaisamba assured.
Ambassador Kaisamba also urged the Foreign Economic Relations Board of Türkiye to look into the many opportunities in the Tourism Industry, which he said remained untapped.
“The diverse ecosystem offers attractive white sand beaches, tropical forests, scenic mountains, and interesting wild wildlife. Sierra Leone is ready for business, and we are looking for credible investors”, Ambassador Kaisamba concluded.
