Momodu Rakib, a Nigerian Businessman, has on Thursday 3rd October 2024, made his first appearance before Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Pademba Road court No.1 after he was found with 20 Pellet of cocaine at the Freetown International Airport.
The accused was arraigned on five Count charges of Possession of a prohibited drug without lawful authority, Dealing in a prohibited drug without lawful authority, transportation of a prohibited drug without lawful authority, commercialization of a prohibited drug without lawful authority and keeping a prohibited drug.
According to the particulars of offence on Saturday 14th September 2024 at the Freetown International Airport Lungi, Port Loko District in the Northern province in Freetown was found in possession of twenty pellets of cocaine without lawful authority.
Count two further stated that the accused on the same date and place dealt with prohibited drugs Cocaine without lawful authority.
The police further alleged on count three that the accused on the same date and place transported drugs without lawful authority.
It was also alleged on count 4 that the accused person commercialized prohibited drugs.
Whiles count five added that on the same date and place the accused person kept prohibited drugs without lawful authority.
When the charges were read and explained to the accused person, no plea taken.
The state prosecutor I.A Kamara Esq. sought for an adjournment for him to get proper conference with his witness.
Meanwhile, Magistrate Kekura refused bail and sent the accused person to the male correctional facility in Freetown and the matter was adjourned to the 8th October 2024.
