The Catholic Archdiocese of Freetown has reaffirmed the official dress code for St. Joseph’s Convent Secondary School, saying the prescribed ceremonial uniform remains unchanged and must be strictly observed.

In a statement, the Archdiocese said the approved attire includes a white knee-length dress, flesh-coloured tights, full black shoes, a white hat with hatband, a black handbag and discreet jewellery.

“The Archdiocese of Freetown maintains the approved dress code as contained in the Constitution. This position is final,” it said, adding that the policy reflects efforts to safeguard Catholic identity and institutional heritage.

The clarification comes amid renewed attention to uniform standards in Catholic schools, where dress codes are traditionally guided by church regulations and long-standing institutional practices.

The Archdiocese did not indicate any planned review or changes to the policy, reiterating that adherence to the established uniform remains mandatory for all members of Catholic schools and associations.
