The National Secretary General of the All Peoples Congress (APC) has been incarcerated for the second time since his arraignment before Magistrate Mustapha Brimah Jah of Court No. 1 in Freetown.

Popularly known as Lawyer Lansana Dumbuya, the APC scribe has denied all charges leveled against him, including incitement and other alleged offenses under the Public Order Act.

Earlier during proceedings, Magistrate Jah reportedly walked out of the courtroom, stating that he would only preside over a sitting with a limited number of defense lawyers present. The development has sparked criticism from members of the defense team and party supporters, who view the action as unusual and procedurally questionable.

Among the lawyers representing Dumbuya is Joseph Fitzgerald Kamara, who expressed concern over what he described as the court’s treatment of officers of the court with disdain. He suggested that the matter may require engagement with the Attorney General and Minister of Justice to address procedural concerns and ensure fairness.

The case has reportedly been unofficially adjourned indefinitely, creating further uncertainty around the timeline for its continuation.

As the situation unfolds, legal analysts and political observers continue to debate issues surrounding due process, judicial conduct, and the broader implications for political tolerance in Sierra Leone.
