APC Warns Members to Settle Dues & Verify Status Ahead of Party Conventions

More News

The All People’s Congress (APC) has issued a stern reminder to its membership nationwide, directing District Chairmen and Executives to immediately display the Provisional Membership Register across all constituencies and wards to allow members to verify their names and status.

In a public notice signed by National Secretary-General Lansana Dumbuya (Esq.), the party expressed concern that some districts have not complied with the requirement to make the register publicly accessible, thereby limiting opportunities for members to confirm their membership status.

The Secretariat also flagged two major issues: members with outstanding subscription payments, contrary to Article 54(g) of the APC Constitution (2022), and others who have failed to provide verifiable proof of membership as stipulated by Article 10(d).

Quoting the Constitution, the notice emphasized that every member must be issued a valid membership card bearing their name, address, and constituency or branch of enrollment.

The APC warned that the Final Membership Register, which will be published 21 days before the commencement of lower-level conventions, will include only those members who are financially compliant and constitutionally qualified.

“All members with outstanding dues or without verifiable proof of membership are strongly advised to regularize their status without delay,” the notice cautioned, stressing that failure to do so would result in exclusion from voting or contesting in upcoming conventions and at the National Delegates Conference (NDC).

The statement, also copied to the Political Parties Regulation Commission (PPRC), underscores the APC’s resolve to tighten internal compliance ahead of its conventions, as the party gears up for key political contests.
