Alie Koblo Koroma a security guard at A KSecurity Agency was on Wednesday 19 August 2020 sent to prison by magistrate Hannah Bonnie of court No.1 for allegedly being found in possession of AK-47 Weapon and some fake US dollars.
The accused was on 30th July 2020, arrested by the Police along Wilkinson Road with arms and ammunition and fake dollar notes.
The accused made his first appearance in court and was arraigned on three counts of unlawful possession of arms and ammunition contrary to Section 2 (1) of the Arms and Ammunition Act 2012.
According to the indictment on count 1, the accused Alie Koblo Koroma on Thursday 30th July 2020, along Lolltie drive off Wilkinson Road Freetown was found with arms and ammunition.
The police further alleged on Count 2 that the accused Alie Koblo Koroma on the same date and place in Freetown was found in possession of one AK47 rifle with serial number 22325 A404-6-1999 and six (6)magazines containing thirty (30) rounds each and one hundred and seventy-five (175) pieces of assorted live rounds bullets.
Whiles Count 3 state that the accused Alie Koblo Koroma on the same date at Marko Merchant office off Wilkinson Road Freetown was found in possession of suspected forged banknotes to wit one hundred dollar bills.
When the charges were read and explained to the accused, no plea was taken and no legal representation was made on his behalf.
Magistrate Hannah Bonnie, however, denied the accused bail and remanded him in custody until the 21st August 2020.
