Former Sierra Leone national football team head coach Mohamed Kallon has described his dismissal as “unfair and unjustified,” breaking his silence on his exit from the role.
Kallon, a former international striker and one of Sierra Leone’s most prominent football figures, said his appointment to lead the national team followed repeated appeals from football authorities, including former Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) president Thomas Daddy Brima and officials of the National Sports Authority (NSA).

He said he initially hesitated to take up the position but agreed after being assured he would have full control over his technical team.
Kallon did not provide further details on the circumstances surrounding his removal but suggested that agreed conditions tied to his appointment were not fully respected.
The SLFA and the NSA have not yet publicly responded to his comments.
Kallon’s dismissal has renewed discussion among fans and stakeholders about coaching stability and governance within Sierra Leone football, where leadership changes have often been frequent and contentious.
