Falaba Incident: When Will Sierra Leone Stand Firm?

More News

My heart bleeds when I saw our RSLAF soldiers sitting on the ground somewhere in Guinea.

These are supposed to be our gallant soldiers, yet they were humiliated as Guinean aggressors trampled upon their rights.

This kind of aggression is unacceptable, and our government should send a very strong warning that next time such ruthless and disrespectful aggression from Mamadi Doumbouya and his soldiers will not be tolerated.

After listening to various accounts relating to the border incident, I wonder why only a few soldiers with inferior weapons were deployed to such a volatile area.

Sierra Leone is not new to Guinean aggression—so why put the lives of our soldiers at risk if we are not serious about protecting our borders with strong and well-equipped military personnel?

How can Guinean soldiers just march into our country and abduct our military personnel so easily?

The Sierra Leone Army is quite aware of the aggression of the Guinean soldiers, because they have invaded Yenga and have been harassing our compatriots there with impunity.

It seems diplomacy is not working—otherwise they would not have done what they did in Falaba District yesterday.

Sadly, since the incident occurred yesterday, where military and police personnel were abducted by the Guineans, nobody has come out officially to explain to Sierra Leoneans what actually happened or what actions our government is going to take.

Considering the Guinean aggression, the illegal occupation of Yenga, and the incident yesterday in Falaba District, I wonder: when will Sierra Leone stand firm to protect our sovereignty from Guinean aggression?

This is upsetting. I rest my case.
