PUBLIC REVIEW SPORTNSA Receives Le4.1 Bn. FromFinance Ministry
The National Sports Authority wishes to inform the public, especially the National Team Players and the Technical Team of Leone Stars, the Sierra Leone Football Association, the Ministry of Finance and the Accountant Generalâ€™s Office that the sum of Four Billion One Hundred Millions Leones which was approved by the Finance Ministry and deposited into the NSA Disbursement Bank Account by the Accountant Generalâ€™s Office has reflected. The said amount is in fulfillment of the Government and the President of the Republic of Sierra Leone Brigadier Retired Julius Maada Bio for Leone Stars qualification to the 2022 AFCON in Cameroon. It is however observed that there has been an initial inconsistency in the list of the thirty (30) players and the eleven (11) officials as submitted to the MOS/NSA as beneficiaries. Meanwhile, the NSA is in receipt of an official letter from the SLFA dated Thursday 1 st July, 2021 with the subject: â€œSubmission of the official list of players and officials of the Sierra Leone Football Association to benefit from the donation of His Excellency the President of the Republic of Sierra Leoneâ€.
In lieu of the above, the NSA is now in the process of disbursing the sum of Le 100,000,000 (One Hundred Million Leones) each to 30 players; including Musa Noah Kamara (Musa Tombo) and SaiduMansaray (Malian) and 11 officials. Therefore, the NSA has requested from the SLFA to submit bank details of the beneficiaries through which payment will be done. Finally, the NSA is encouraging the media to follow the disbursement process, as transparency is the core value of the National Sports Authority.
