Sierra Leone’s Sports Minister has distanced herself from the controversial dismissal of former Leone Stars head coach Mohamed Kallon, blaming administrative failures at the National Sports Authority (NSA) for delays in finalizing his contract.
In a statement shared via social media, the minister said responsibility for the lack of a formal agreement lay with the Executive Director of the NSA, whom she accused of failing to ensure the necessary documentation was completed on time.

The minister said the absence of a signed contract contributed to uncertainty surrounding Kallon’s position, which has sparked public debate over his removal from the national team setup.
The National Sports Authority has not yet publicly responded to the allegations.
Kallon, a former Sierra Leone international and one of the country’s most prominent football figures, was recently sacked as head coach of the national team, known as the Leone Stars, triggering criticism from sections of fans and stakeholders over the handling of his appointment and exit.
