The National Revenue Authority (NRA) is hosting the 32nd Conference of Directors-General of the World Customs Organization (WCO) West and Central Africa region, bringing together top customs officials to discuss trade facilitation, revenue mobilization and regional cooperation.
The conference, currently underway, convenes directors-general and senior representatives from across the region to deliberate on strategies to strengthen customs administration, improve border management and enhance collaboration among member states.
The gathering is expected to address key challenges facing customs authorities, including illicit trade, revenue leakages and the need for digital transformation in customs operations.
Sierra Leone’s NRA said hosting the conference underscores its commitment to regional integration and effective revenue administration, as well as its role in advancing best practices within the WCO West and Central Africa bloc.
The event continues with a series of technical sessions and high-level discussions.
