Former Sierra Leone head coach Mohamed Kallon has said he will return stronger in the future after missing out on reappointment as coach of the national team, following the appointment of a new foreign manager.

The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) on Friday unveiled French coach Didier Gomes Da Rosa as the new head coach of the Leone Stars, replacing Kallon, who had been seeking to regain the position after his dismissal in April.
Kallon, a former Sierra Leone international and one of the country’s most prominent football figures, reacted to the decision by expressing determination to continue his coaching career and return at a later stage.
While he did not secure the role this time, Kallon said he remained committed to developing himself and contributing to Sierra Leone football in the future.
The SLFA’s decision to appoint Gomes Da Rosa marks a shift toward foreign technical leadership as the federation looks to strengthen the national team’s performance in upcoming international competitions.
Kallon had previously overseen the Leone Stars during a transitional period, with mixed results, and had hoped to build on his experience with a renewed tenure.
The appointment of Gomes Da Rosa comes as Sierra Leone prepares for upcoming international fixtures, with expectations high for improved results under the new coaching setup.
