*Vice President Juldeh Jalloh Addresses AU Assembly of Heads of State

Vice President of Sierra Leone, Dr Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh, has addressed the 37th African Union (AU) Assembly of Heads of State and, on behalf of President Julius Maada Bio, presented two reports for endorsement and adoption in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

“Firstly, the 24th C-10 report on the reform of the United Nations Security Council and secondly the African Peer Review report adopted by the 33rd Summit of the African Peer Review Forum,” he reports.

President Bio is the Coordinator of the AU Committee of Ten Heads of State and Government on the UN Security Council Reforms (C-10) and the outgoing Chair of the African Peer Review Forum Chairperson of the African Peer Review Forum of Heads of State and Government. The Forum is the APRM’s highest decision-making authority. 

The Vice President writes on LinkedIn: “In both presentations, I highlighted the progress made in Sierra Leone under the leadership of President Bio particularly to mobilise broad support for the Common African Position in view of the reform of the United Nations Security Council and the efforts to encourage African States to accede to the African Peer Review Mechanism”.

He added that President Bio was congratulated for his outstanding leadership with the C-10 and APR Forum, adding that the reports were unanimously endorsed and adopted.

He thanked the Sierra Leone delegation, led by the Minister of Political and Public Affairs, Amara Kallon, for their excellent work and the Government of Ethiopia for their hospitality.

“Algeria will assume the Chair of the African Peer Review Forum 2024-2026, and I wish President AbdelMadjid Tebboune a successful tenure”.
