Sierra Leone police have released Admire Bio from detention after granting her bail, authorities said, as investigations continue into an alleged fraud case linked to her husband, who remains wanted.

Bio had been in police custody in connection with an ongoing probe into a suspected gold fraud scheme that has drawn significant public attention in recent weeks. Police have not disclosed full details of her role in the matter but confirmed she was assisting with investigations.
Her husband, who has been identified by local media as a key suspect in the case, is currently at large and wanted by authorities. Investigators allege he played a central role in the suspected scheme, which involves claims of fraudulent dealings in the gold trade.
Bio’s detention had sparked widespread interest due to her reported links to a prominent political family, further amplifying public scrutiny of the case.
Police said her release on bail does not end the investigation and that she may be required to report regularly to authorities as inquiries continue.
The case is part of a broader crackdown by Sierra Leonean authorities on alleged financial crimes, particularly within the lucrative but often loosely regulated gold sector.
Authorities have urged anyone with information on the whereabouts of the main suspect to come forward as efforts to locate him intensify.
