Orange Sierra Leone has made a financial donation to the Sierra Leone Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC) following a recent fire incident at the broadcaster’s premises, in a move described as part of its corporate social responsibility commitment.
The donation was presented on Friday, May 15, 2026, during a brief ceremony attended by officials from both institutions.
The presentation was led by Orange Sierra Leone’s Chief Marketing Officer, Abdramane Kone, alongside the company’s General Secretary, Danetta Younge.
On behalf of SLBC, the donation was received by Director General Josephine Kamara and Deputy Director General Mohamed Asmieu Bah, who expressed appreciation for the support during a difficult period for the national broadcaster.
Also present at the ceremony was Alhaji Dauda Bangura, who joined the Orange Sierra Leone delegation during the handover event.
Orange Sierra Leone said the gesture reflects its ongoing partnership with SLBC and its commitment to strengthening national institutions involved in public information, awareness, and development communication.
SLBC, the state broadcaster, continues to play a key role in delivering news and public service information across Sierra Leone, though its operations were disrupted following the fire incident.
