Former Sierra Leone national team coach Mohamed Kallon has called on Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) President Babadi Kamara to provide leadership and clarity following his dismissal, which he described as “unfair and unjustified.”
Kallon said the situation required decisive action, urging the SLFA leadership to take responsibility and address concerns surrounding his removal.
“As a younger brother, I would advise you to take full responsibility for your association and provide leadership for us,” he said.
He added that if there were concerns about his conduct or performance, a meeting involving the National Sports Authority (NSA) and other stakeholders should be convened to resolve the matter.
Kallon, a former international widely regarded as one of Sierra Leone’s most prominent football figures, was appointed head coach of the Leone Stars in 2024 as part of efforts to rebuild the national team and improve performances in international competitions.
However, his tenure was marked by mixed results and reports of internal disagreements with football authorities, including concerns over team management and coordination with administrators.
His dismissal has since sparked debate within Sierra Leone’s football community, with some supporters questioning the timing and transparency of the decision, while others cite performance-related concerns.
The Sierra Leone Football Association, led by Kamara, has faced growing pressure in recent years to improve governance and results, while strengthening engagement with stakeholders.
Kallon’s remarks reflect broader concerns over accountability and decision-making within the country’s football administration. The SLFA has not yet publicly responded to his comments.
