Orange Sierra Leone has reaffirmed its commitment to corporate social responsibility by providing food donations to Christian communities in Freetown and Makeni during the Easter season.

The initiative, themed “Together We Eat,” was carried out on Good Friday, April 3, and saw the telecommunications company support several churches, enabling worshippers to observe the day in a spirit of fellowship and reflection.

Beneficiary churches included Jordan W.A.M Church in Murray Town, Holy Trinity Church along Kissy Road, St. Luke’s Church in Wilberforce, and Holy Trinity Church in Makeni. The donations allowed congregants to gather after services and share meals, reinforcing values of compassion, sacrifice and communal care associated with Easter.

Company representatives said the outreach reflects Orange Sierra Leone’s belief in supporting communities through practical initiatives, particularly during significant religious observances.

They noted that Easter, which symbolises sacrifice, renewal and hope in the Christian calendar, provides an opportunity to strengthen social bonds and promote unity through shared experiences such as communal meals.

Orange Sierra Leone said its responsibility extends beyond providing telecommunications services, adding that meaningful impact is measured by its contribution to the wellbeing of communities.

Worshippers at the beneficiary churches welcomed the gesture, describing it as timely and thoughtful. The initiative created an opportunity for families and congregants to interact and strengthen both social and spiritual ties.

The company said the outreach also reinforces its commitment to remaining closely connected to communities, adding that such initiatives are central to its mission.

Christians across Sierra Leone continue to reflect on the Easter season, while the “Together We Eat” campaign underscores Orange Sierra Leone’s focus on promoting solidarity and community support.
