The Ministry of Works and Public Assets has officially handed

over the Miatta Civic Centre to the Ministry of Information and Civic Education (MoICE). The brief handing-over ceremony took place on Friday at the Centre’s meeting room.

In his opening statement, the Assistant to the Secretary to the President, Patrick Kawa, described the transition process as smooth and commended both Ministries for their collaboration and diligence in finalizing the handover documentation. He emphasized the importance of sustained cooperation between the two institutions to ensure the effective management of the facility.

Delivering remarks on behalf of the Ministry of Works, the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Joe Fayiah Nyuma, expressed satisfaction that his Ministry had fulfilled the directive of His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio. He thanked officials from both Ministries for their patience and also acknowledged Mr. Kawa’s mediatory role in facilitating the process. Dr. Nyuma reaffirmed his Ministry’s commitment to continued technical collaboration with MoICE.

Receiving the facility on behalf of the Ministry of Information and Civic Education, Permanent Secretary Andrew Kamara expressed appreciation to the Ministry of Works for their cooperation throughout the process. He said he was pleased that the transition had been successfully concluded and assured that MoICE would continue to engage the Ministry of Works on matters within its technical purview.

The event concluded with the symbolic handing over of the keys and relevant documents to the Permanent Secretary of MoICE.
