Thirty-nine years old Foday Allieu Alias King Big fish was on Monday 14th August 2023 granted bail in the sum of 50 million new Leones by Magistrate Mark Ngegba of Pademba road court No.1 for carrying offensive weapon to the Ministry of Internal Affairs without reasonable excuse.
The accused was charges with two count of Carrying offensive weapon without lawful authority or reasonable excuse contrary to section 16 (1) of the Public Order Act No.46 of 1965 and disorderly behavior contrary to section 12 of the public order Act No.46 of 1965 as amended by Section 12 (a) of Act No.15 of 1973
According to the particulars of offence, the accused on the 10th July, 2023 at Gloucester Street in Freetown was found Carrying offensive weapon in a public place to wit machetes(cutlass) without lawful authority or reasonable excuse.
Whiles count two, added that the accused on the same and place did behave in a disorderly manner
According to a brief fact by the police, the accused person at about 10:20 hours was arrested by one Alusine Kpaka and brought to the CID in the grounds that he went to ministry of internal Affairs, immigration building, Gloucester street Freetown Carrying offensive weapon.
When the charges were read and explained to the accused person, he pleaded not guilty on both count charges. The accused on his first appearance sometimes in July he was referred to the kissy mental home for examination.
The prosecutor inspector Sellu TAP informed the bench that he has sent a subpoena to the medical doctor at the Kissy Mental home in respect of the accused.
Meanwhile Magistrate Ngegba granted the accused person bail in the sum of fifty thousand new Leones with one surety in like sum surety must be resident in the western area and should produce valid identity card depicting his or her address in Freetown.
Adding that the bail to be approved by the Deputy assistant Registrar whiles the matter was adjourned to the 29th August 2023 for further hearing.
