SLFA MAPS OUT STRATEGIC PLAN FOR NATIONAL FEMALE LEAGUE
The Sierra Leone Football Association on Thursday engaged female club owners at its Kingtom Secretariat in Freetown to map out a way forward for the commencement of the Female National League this year.
The Female National League will consist of 40 female clubs across the country, with each region setting up a regional board for the running of the competition. Upon completing the regional league, each region will produce two teams for the 2021/2022 National League season.
Twelve teams will participate in the upcoming Female Premier League 2021-2022 season. The champions in this tournament will represent Sierra Leone in the next Female Champions League.
A Female Premier League Board will be constituted by the Football Association in collaboration with female club representatives.
“Fifty thousand dollars is being budgeted to run the female league,” says the General Secretary of the Sierra Leone Football Association, Mr. Christophe Kamara .
He added that the money will be utilised for the said purpose.
A capacity building clinic will be conducted for female football administrators and coaches prior to the commencement of the league.
