Sierra Leone’s Ministry of Employment, Labour and Social Security has confirmed that a Chinese national accused of assaulting a local factory worker has left the country following the withdrawal of his work permit..
The individual, identified as Lin Zhang, departed Sierra Leone after authorities revoked his permit over his alleged involvement in the incident, the ministry said in a statement.
Senior ministry officials conducted a follow-up inspection at KK Company, located in Six Mile in the Western Rural District, where the alleged assault took place.

During the visit, the company provided documentary evidence, including Zhang’s travel itinerary, confirming his exit from the country.
Company management also disclosed that Zhang has been permanently banned from returning to Sierra Leone in connection with its operations.

The ministry did not provide further details about the circumstances of the alleged assault or whether any legal proceedings would follow.
The case has drawn public attention in Sierra Leone, where concerns over labour conditions and the treatment of local workers by foreign nationals have periodically surfaced.

Authorities said they remain committed to enforcing labour laws and ensuring the protection of workers’ rights.
