Njala University said on Tuesday it has decided not to extend the tenure of its Deputy Vice-Chancellor for the Njala Campus, Dr. Alieu Mohamed Bah, following the expiration of his three-year term.
In a press release dated Feb. 17, the university said Bah’s tenure, which began in 2022, ended in line with provisions of the Universities Act, 2021.
The institution said a review committee had assessed Bah’s performance for possible renewal, but the University Court did not approve an extension of his appointment.
“As a result, the position was declared vacant in January 2026,” the statement said, adding that a search committee has been constituted to commence the process of appointing a new Deputy Vice-Chancellor.
Njala University reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and due process in the administration of its affairs.
There was no immediate comment from Bah.
