FREETOWN, Sept 12 — Police in Sierra Leone’s eastern city of Kenema arrested a suspected drug dealer known locally as “Seppeh” during a night patrol on Friday, authorities said.
The operation, carried out by officers from the Kenema Police Division, targeted criminal activity in the IDA community, where Seppeh is believed to reside, police said in a brief statement.
Officials described the suspect as a “notorious” dealer but did not disclose the type or quantity of drugs allegedly involved. He was taken into custody for questioning, and an investigation was under way.
Drug trafficking and abuse remain persistent challenges in Sierra Leone, prompting security forces to step up patrols and intelligence-led operations, particularly in urban centres.
