A commercial motorbike rider, Emmanuel Tommy, has been remanded at the Male Correctional Centre in Freetown for allegedly causing the death of Mohamed Bah in a fatal road incident.
Tommy made his first appearance before Magistrate Augustine Brima Samura at Court No. 8 on Pademba Road, where he was arraigned on a single count of manslaughter, contrary to law.
According to police, the incident occurred on Friday, May 30, 2025, at New England Ville in Freetown. The accused was riding a TVS Star HLX motorbike with registration number AUV 346 when the fatal incident allegedly took place, leading to the death of Mohamed Bah.
The charge was read and explained to the accused, but no plea was taken.
Police Prosecutor, Inspector Aminata Korio, requested an adjournment, citing the absence of prosecution witnesses.
Magistrate Samura denied bail and ordered Tommy’s remand at the correctional facility. The matter was adjourned to July 31, 2025, for further proceedings.
