The Deputy Minister of Information and Communications, Madam Mamadie Gobeh Kamara, has led a combined team of Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) and National Council for Civic Education and Development (NaCCED) officials on regional town hall engagement on President Bio’s three years in office. Addressing stakeholders including chiefs, councilors, CSOs, youth and women’s groups, among others, in Kenema and Bo for the South-East Region past Monday and Tuesday, the Deputy Minister catalogued President Bio’s achievements particularly in the areas of Education, Health, Economy, Infrastructure, Agriculture, Energy, Press Freedom and also rebranding the image of Sierra Leone. President Bio, she went on, has been able to win the confidence and trust of donor partners hence the huge support the country is presently enjoying in terms of implementation of national development projects. Madam Mamadie Gobeh Kamara further eloquently articulated the President’s vision for the coming years and reiterated his unwavering commitment to meeting the aspirations of the populace in line with his Manifesto Commitments. The Deputy Minister also responded to questions from the audience that followed her awesome presentation. The regional public engagements continue in Makeni for the North-East Region and Port Loko for the North-West Regio Catherine Jackson-Cole: The Blogger doc She held on to her phone as if her life depended on it. She is both a pharmacist and an MD. She took her job almost the same as President Bio. She opened a twitter account almost right away (October 2018). Her first three tweets were about food and more food, vastly different from the tone and tenure of her recent tweets and newfound career as activist-blogger. For three years she worked out of PCMH but frequented Connaught because, in her own words, she had “patients thereâ€. Her term at PCMH ended on 3/19/21. She was radicalized at PCMH She has had a long running battle with the utility services: Electricity Company and Guma Valley Water in particular over the erratic supply of services to PCMH. For the last two years she has pilloried Guma in tweet after tweet. “Ar tireâ€, she tweeted on February 15, 2021. “PCMH from thy Kingdom Come, no water. DANGER OF SECRET SOCIETY IN SIERRA LEONE
By: Idrissa Jerry Kargbo In this day and age, there are perspectives that have questioned the necessity of secret societies more so when 21st century norms are taken into consideration. The sociocultural power structure of some of such secret societies like the Poro and Bondo and their interactions with international human rights discourse in post-conflict Sierra Leone is in a contest of contrast. It is believed that these secret societies offer gender and cultural spaces that serve as social and political mobilizing symbols. These societies further provide the environment as well as a stage for counter-discourse about gender-based violence and human rights’ violations, particularly with regards to the forceful nature of the Poro secret society, which extends in its culturally privileged positions and forcefully victimizing and violating the human rights of non-members in the name of defending tradition best practices. Maybe in reality, they are defending and preserving their personal socio-economic and political interests within local power structures in the country (Sierra Leone,) and in some case it is out of personal vendetta “epo-sata-cachi†or “turumu pa mene wanduni†at this point no one can prevent you of been forcefully taken to the secret society bush. Several years back, the Ernest Bai Koroma led government put on hold the activities and exhibition of masquerades and secret societies across the country in early March 2018. The rationale and cognitive for that “Executive Order” was noticeable: distinctive turmoil, prearranged chaos, social commotions; forcefully initiations and in some cases the actual loss of lives, youth absconding from their community or country which is most prevalent associated with masquerades and secret society existence, which has led to superficial cultural psychosis and societal disruptions, in which the youths suffers it the most. In the Northern region, youths face a huge percentage of the sudden disappearance of non-members of these secret societies within the age bracket of 14 to 38, justifiably; colleague journalists and activists have been writing and investigating this looming saga in the minds of non-members of these secret societies. Of recent, over ten cases have been reported by journalists, allegedly, reporting the missing and disappearance of very strong and vibrant young men, in some cases, they are seen after three months or six months seldom, and in most cases, they abscond to other countries for protection on most cases. In my view, these secret societies (Poro) are causing more harm than good and also impeding and hampering the growth of the northern region and by extension the country at large, in which, it now serves as an agent of distraction, deprivation, and operation to the youths and our future leaders, leaving them with no other better option but to escape to other location in the country and many been on the run to other countries as a result of it in the name of finding greener pasture. Government and the international community need to act and the time is now, if the government has the people interest at heart and the international community is serious about the human rights thing, especially in promoting and ready to achieve the SDGs and the time to do this is now.    Lawyers condemn Police Brutality    78 Employees Fired at SALCAB A total of seventy eight employees of SALCAB including the Managing Director and heads of Finance, Commercial and Technical had their services officially terminated yesterday. Their end of service benefits are to be paid by the end of this month, according to a senior official in the Ministry of Information and Communications. With the exception of the Chairman, all members of the Board have also been fired. Staff members that went to collect their termination letters at the SALCAB Headquarters yesterday were seen leaving the office with tears running down their cheeks. A new company is to be set up by the Government to manage the National Fibre Backbone (NFB) network. An interim management team is to be set up to manage the network for a period of three months, according to a senior official in the Ministry of Information and Communications. The outgoing Managing Director of SALCAB, Ishmael Kebbay, declined all media interviews last night by this press. The company’s Chairman, Sorie Fofana (a senior Bio propagandist) also refused to be interviewed yesterday when contacted. Instead, he referred us to the Ministry of Information and Communications. (In our subsequent editions, The Nationalist Newspaper will follow up this story) Saudi Arabia To Offer Scholarships To WASSCE Graduates   In tune with the flagship programme of His Excellency President Dr. Julius Maada Bio’s Free Quality Education, the Islamic University of Madinah, Saudi Arabia will be offering scholarships for students who excel in the coming years of the West Africa Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) to pursue undergraduate courses in Engineering, Accounting and Computer Sciences, among others. This was disclosed to His Excellency Dr. Ibrahim Jalloh, Ambassador of the Republic of Sierra Leone to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia during a working visit to His Highness, Dr. Mamdouh Bin Saud Bin Thunayan Al Saud, President of the Islamic University of Madinah. In his opening statement, Ambassador Jalloh conveyed greetings of His Excellency Dr. Julius Maada Bio, President of the Republic of Sierra Leone to the President and staff of the Islamic University of Madinah and expressed the Government’s profound appreciation to the Islamic University for its tremendous support to Sierra Leone in the areas of education and human capital development over the past decades. Ambassador Jalloh informed the President of the Islamic University of the Free Quality Education program of His Excellency President Bio and requested the need for the University to roll out scholarship programs for high school students especially in the sciences adding that the Bio administration puts premium on education and is determined to build a strong foundation that would produce the country’s future leaders. Responding, the President of the University, His Highness Dr. Mamdouh Bin Saud Bin Thunayan Al Saud said he was pleased with the request, noting that the
AKI-SAWYER’S LEGAL TEAM PUT UP DEFENCE
Former ACC Commissioner and Attorney General of the then Koroma led government, Joseph Fitzgerald Kamara and team have defended the Mayor of the Freetown City Council, Yvonne Aki-Sawyerr. It could be recalled that Her Worship recently came under pressure when an audio of hers was leaked. Leftists and other nationals viewed and classed the audio as tribal and not nationalistic. It is against this backdrop that JFK and Partners have stepped up to defend the mayor noting that Her Worship’s actions were as a result of the ‘unwillingness of an officer to execute assigned tasks.’ The defense furthered that the Mayor has been diligent, competent and energetic in the dispensation of her duties. 3RD Setback For Mid-term Census  Statistic SL has faced another setback for three times in a row regarding the conduct of the mid-term census. The enumeration institution is charged with the mandate of counting the total number of residents in a country alongside their professions, career or source of livelihoods.  In a press statement dated on the 16 April, 2021 stated the On the 21st July the president of the republic of Sierra Leone (Retired) Dr. Julius Maada Bio proclaim a 2020 mid-Term population and housing census (MTPHC), to be conducted by statistics sierra Leone. The release continued that the enumeration, which was to commence on 4th December, 2020, was reversed to 19th April, 2021 as contained in the stats SL press release of October20, 2020. The press statement also said that meanwhile, preparatory work, including the electronic cartographic mapping using satellite imagery and EA pad application for demarcation of Enumeration Area (EAs) is in progress. Furthermore, the 20,000 tablets identified for the process have now formally being issued to Sierra Leone on the 1st April, 2021 by His Excellency the Republic of Kenya, Uhuru Kenyatta, and subsequently handed over to the Sierra Leone High Commission in Kenya on the 7th April, 2021. The press release further stated that arrangement for the shipment of the tablets is underway with support of our development partners and stats SL is therefore informing the public that the delay in the shipment of twenty thousand (20,000) electronic tablet from Kenya to Sierra Leone, has affected the time lines in the conduct of the census. Therefore, enumeration of the population slated for the 19th April 2021 can no longer hold.  A new date for the actual census enumeration will soon be announced by Stats SL.  In conclusion, Stats SL encouraged the public to support the census process as they continue to assure the people of transparency, trust, inclusion and credibility at all stages. Therefore, Stats SL and her partners assure the public of their firm commitment to the execution of the 2021 mid-term population and housing census. On the 2021 National Mid-Term Census In fairness to Statistics Sierra Leone and their international partners, they have repeatedly pointed out what is wrong about the 2015 Housing and Population Census Report. It’s all over the place for those who care to listen or read. Let’s face it, the 2015 census had many imperfections, and civil society organizations who diligently followed the process said so long before now. IGR wrote several papers and letters, including one that CARL co-authored, pointing out those gaps. So my current position on this issue has nothing to do with the position of the current administration or the opposition. I disagreed with the quality of the 2015 census long before the report came out and I still do. Even before the census was done, a DFID-hired consultant produced a report that clearly showed that the process was bound to be fraught with challenges. Instead of standing in the way of efforts to correct the data, we should all participate in and hold the process to account. Let’s interrogate the process – rather than disrupt it. I also note that parliament approved the budget for the mid-term census way back in 2020, which I believe, was a tacit endorsement of the process. See Item 138 of the 2020 Budget. Nat dat make nor to all noise me kin pay attention to:) I am comforted by the leadership of Statistics Sierra Leone. Professor Mallam O. Sankoh is a stellar professional, and I am confident that he’ll do a good job, but we can all help him do even better. We should stop conflating the need for an accurate census data with how we fear/suspect the government might use it. Let’s take it one step at a time. Let us first correct the data, and we will start a conversation about how it should or should not be used. I’ll be the first to call out the government if the new/revised data was used for purposes other than ensuring fairness in our governance and development system.  AFDB Country Manager Meets President Bio   New Country Manager of the African Development Bank (AFDB) Halima Yussuf Hashi, has paid a courtesy call on His Excellency President Dr Julius Maada Bio where she assured of her wealth of experience working in Tanzania, Ethiopia, Tunisia, Uganda and Rwanda. Deputy Minister of Finance, Patricia Nyanja Laverley, introduced the new AfDB boss as a Tanzanian with more than ten years’ experience at the bank, which had also supported Sierra Leone to stabilise its fiscal imbalances to the national budget between 2019 and 2021. “With madam Halima Hashi coming on board, we will like to adopt the foundation to operate together. We hope that with her coming we will further deepen partnership with the bank,†she noted. Madam Hashi thanked President Bio for meeting her despite his busy schedule, saying: “Your Excellency, I am really looking forward to deepening the good working relationship between Sierra Leone and the AfDB. The bank considers Sierra Leone as an important partnerâ€. She said she was impressed with the country’s handling of the Coronavirus from the inception to the vaccination process, adding that the bank would continue to support the government with its development efforts, particularly in the agriculture and energy

The exact circumstances of Deby’s death were not immediately clear. APC Loses 2018 Election Petition Case The Supreme Court of Sierra Leone presided over by the Hon. Chief Justice, Desmond Babatunde Edwards, has struck out the 2018 presidential elections petition case brought before the court by the leadership of the main opposition All People’s Congress (APC) Party. The empanelled quorum comprised the Hon. Justice Nicholas Browne- Marke (JSC), the Hon. Justice Eku Roberts (JSC), the Hon. Justice Alusine Sesay (JSC) and the Hon. Justice Ansumana Ivan Sesay (JA). The Petitioners including Dr. Sylvia Blyden (1st Petitioner), Dr. Samura M. W. Kamara (2nd petitioner); Minkailu Mansaray (3rd petitioner) and Dr. Osman Foday Yansaneh (4th petitioner) filed a petition against the former National Electoral Commissioner (NEC) Mohamed N’fah Allie Conteh; NEC; HE President Julius Maada Bio and the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP), challenging the validity of the 2018 presidential election results. It could be recalled that in April 2018, Dr. Sylvia Olayinka Blyden and Dr. Samura M.W. Kamara separately filed petitions challenging the pronouncement of HE President Julius Maada Bio as President of the Republic of Sierra Leone. These cases were heard by the Supreme Court presided over by Justices Nicholas Browne-Marke; Eku Roberts and Glena Thompson who gave directives for both petitions to be consolidated. In the substantive application, the Petitioners claimed that the presidential elections of 31st March, 2018 that brought HE President, Julius Maada Bio, to power was improper and fraught with irregularities. They asserted that the election was not conducted in accordance with the 1991 Constitution, the Public Elections Act of 2012 and the governing regulations. They argued that NEC failed to establish and maintain an accurate voter register that was publicly available, verifiable and credible as required by Section 42 of the 1991 Constitution. They also alleged that the NEC Commissioner on the 4th of April 2018, without ‘‘full and frank disclosure’’ of over-voting concerns pronounced Julius Maada Bio winner of the run-off elections contrary to the Public Elections Act No. 2 of 2012. The Petitioners further claimed that there was widespread intimidation, harassment and assault on polling agents of the APC party, particularly in Kenema, Kailahun, Pujehun, and Bo districts by ‘SLPP operatives in agreement with NEC officials.’ Representing His Excellency President Bio, George Banda Thomas Esq. urged the Supreme Court to strike out the petition on the grounds that, the method or process used by the Petitioners to invoke the Original Jurisdiction of the Supreme Court to challenge the validity of the elections of the President as prescribed under the Sierra Leone Constitution is faulty. According to him, the process to challenge the validity of the elections of the President should be done by Originating Notice of Motion, rather than by a Petition. Delivering the joint ruling, the Supreme Court Judges unanimously declared that the Court in its inherent jurisdiction holds that the “election of His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio, the Sierra Leone Peoples’ Party candidate as President of Sierra Leone on the 4th April 2018, was and is valid.†The Supreme Court Judges affirmed that, “the petitioners have failed, refused or neglected to produce any evidence to rebut the fact that Brigadier (Rtd.) Julius Maada Bio now President was validly elected as President of the Republic of Sierra Leone. All things considered, the petition of Dr. Sylvia Blyden as SC6/2018 and that of Dr. Samura M. W. Kamara, Minkailu Mansaray and Ambassador Dr. Osman Foday Yansaneh as SC7/2018 now consolidated as S.C. Cases 6 and 7 of 2018 are all herein struck out.† Kamakwie Deprived of Basic Amenities Kamakwie is the headquater town of Karene District in the Northern Province of Sierra Leone. It is among the sixteen districts that make up the Republic of Sierra Leone and Kamakwie is the largest city in that part of the country. Both Falaba and Kerene districts are the two new districts that were formed in December 2017 and ratified by Parliament during the tenure of former President Ernest Bai Koroma. Kamakwie Town which is geo-politically and strategically placed and its central location in the new Karene District has an edge over other towns because it is the District Headquarter Town. Its multi-ethnic character is an ace and the town is well positioned as it stands astride the trade routes between Kambia, Falaba, Koinadugu, Bombali and Port Loko districts. Even though the township is a center point for most district headquarter town, yet still government is paying little attention to it in terms of development and infrastructure. The township is currently suffering from lack of electricity, poor road networks, inadequate water supply and abject poverty. It could be recalled that Kamakwie Town was one of the strongholds of the main opposition APC but from time immemorial, the people haven’t seen much or absolutely nothing coming from that party. The district is the prominent home of APC personalities including the 2018 presidential flag bearer Dr. Samura Kamara. But during their tenure of governance much was not seen by way of improving the major roads that link this town and even the Tonko Limba road that links Kambia/Madina to the town. Residents in that part of the country have been crying to every government of the day for the main

Although the match didn’t play on the scheduled date (with controversy of COVID-19 test result in the way), it was a day of great significance. A deeply polarized nation was brought together by football. Seven million people were in bated breath in anticipation of a history making moment – where we become the sole deciders of our footballing fate. It is without doubt Our darling Leone stars pull us all together in unity of purpose without regard to our common enemies of politics, religion, region etc. How much we can learn from that!  Let me digress. Sport has a unique and an unquantifiable impact in society. Be it a community cause to the inspiring of children from deprived regions, sport influences the lives of people on daily basis. In 2011, after Cristiano Ronaldo won the European golden shoe, he sold it at an auction for £1.2 million and donated the money towards building schools in war-torn Gaza.  Sport is a mega billion-dollar industry. In 2018, the global sports market was valued at approximately 471 billion U.S. dollars (Statista Research Department, 2020). The annual New York City marathon boosted the city’s economy to the tune of $340 million. Apart from its revenue generating ability, the sports industry in America produced 456,000 jobs with an average salary of $39,000 (Economic modeling specialist Intl.). Back to Sierra Leone and sport. The importance of sport in the lives of Sierra Leoneans cannot be overemphasized. The New Direction manifesto listed sports as one of its sub-pillars in youth empowerment. It highlighted nine action points that will be implemented within a five-year mandate of the SLPP led government. This is so because President Julius Maada Bio believes that sports plays an integral role in national development. “The Government of Sierra Leone recognizes the enormous benefit sport provides and therefore acknowledges its importance in sustaining peace, building social and national cohesion, and creating enormous economic potential (job creation, income generation and stability), especially for young people. The relevance of sport has been neglected by successive governments and the entire society†(National Development plan 2019-2023).” As President Bio has clocked three years in Office, it is necessary that we evaluate the impact his government has created in Sports. In the 2021 Citizen’s budget, the sum of Le 2.3 billion was allocated to the Ministry of Sports to cover the thirty-six sporting disciplines. Sadly, this is an extremely meager sum when compared to the ‘ youth car wash project’ that enjoys the sum of 8.0 billion Leones. It is difficult to ascertain if the Bio administration has significantly increased budgetary allocation to Sports. However, whilst they complain about a tight national budget in justifying the inadequate allocation, the Ministry of Finance intermittently allocates king-sized amounts to selected sporting disciplines upon qualification to international tournaments. In a Press release from the Ministry of Finance, the public was informed that from April 2018 to date, “the Government has disbursed 68,318,694,632.75 to the Ministry of Sports and the National Sports Authority for the PROMOTION, DEVELOPMENT and INTERNATIONAL PARTICIPATION of different sporting disciplines in the country.†In his manifesto to the people of Sierra Leone, President Bio made several promises in relation to sports development . He vowed to establish sport academies and provide facilities for sports development and recreation around the country. Currently, there is no functional football academy nor has Minister Ibrahim Nyelenkeh started any project of such. Furthermore, the President promised to establish a sports development fund. In my research, there is no existing sports development fund in Sierra Leone. The Inter-Secondary School sports meet was one of the most anticipated event for talent sourcing and it provided valued recreational opportunities to school going children. Reactivating it and other
DR. SENGEH SAYS: 70% OF MANIFESTO BASIC EDUCATION ACHIEVED
Minister of Basic and Senior School Education Dr. David Moinina Sengeh has stated that the Ministry in three years has been able to deliver on about 70 percent of the New Direction People’s Manifesto commitments on free and quality education. He made this disclosure on Thursday during the weekly government press briefing held at the Ministry of Information Conference Hall Youyi Building. “We’ve done about 70% of what we said we will do in the manifesto and the remaining 30% we’ve started already. There is no basic education commitment that is in the manifesto that we have not started already,†according to the minister. He said in achieving the quality aspect of education, they’ve recruited 5000 teachers, assessed over 4,000 teachers and about 10,000 have undergone training, implemented 10% allowance for teachers in 2019 and in 2020 they added a 30% salary increment for teachers. He said teachers made up about 40% of the payroll and there are presently about 85,000 teachers in the country. He said a lot has been done for teachers, however, noted that as a government, they understand the challenges teachers are faced with and one of which is that many teachers don’t have pin codes, noting that government can’t possibly employ all the teachers. The Minister said 3400 new schools have been approved and the government spent Le 150 Billion every academic year on school subsidies alone. He said in the recent past, they are recording the highest number of passes ever in science subjects like mathematics, chemistry, physics among others, noting that there is a notable reduction in examination malpractice. “For the first time in Sierra Leone, we are developing the Basic Education curriculum framework and the civic education curriculum framework. What we are using presently are syllabuses from Nigeria and Ghana, we gonna develop syllabuses based on what we want our children to be educated on like critical thinking, creativity, and the fourth industrial revolution,†he said. He said they’ve brought the highest amount of money in education ever which is the World Bank USD$ 70 Million. He said the ministry has built about 100 early childhood classrooms last year and they are expanding about 100 again this year, noting that they recently commissioned 327 classrooms nationwide that were built last year. “We have continued to expand on teachers’ development, infrastructure development, learning, and curriculum, restructuring the human resources at the Ministry and policies development,†he said. He said recently cabinet approved a policy on radical inclusion which they named ‘Paopa all man for learning book’, adding that they are also ensuring that every chiefdom has an adult education learning center so that the illiteracy rate in the country can be reduced. “Improving Education and Skills Training Investing in quality education – primary, secondary, and post-secondary (including technical and vocational education and training (TVET) and university) will help transform Sierra Leone’s natural and mineral resources into sustainable development. Education is the key to individual, community, and national development. Education helps lift people out of poverty and creates vast new opportunities to reduce unfair income distribution and increase choices. It creates awareness and helps to sustain democracy and peace,†according to figure 3.1 in the People’s Manifesto under Human Development First High Court Criminal Session Ends In Karene District The Resident High Court Judge of Koinadugu District presiding over cases in Karene District, Hon. Promotes Blood Sugar Control by Reducing Insulin Resistance Several studies have found that fasting may improve blood sugar control, which could be especially useful for those at risk of diabetes. In fact, one study in 10 people with type 2 diabetes showed that short-term intermittent fasting significantly decreased blood sugar levels (1Trusted Source). Meanwhile, another review found that both intermittent fasting and alternate-day fasting were as effective as limiting calorie intake at reducing insulin resistance (2Trusted Source). Decreasing insulin resistance can increase your body’s sensitivity to insulin, allowing it to transport glucose from your bloodstream to your cells more efficiently. Coupled with the potential blood sugar-lowering effects of fasting, this could help keep your blood sugar steady, preventing spikes and crashes in your blood sugar levels. Keep in mind though that some studies have found that fasting may impact blood sugar levels differently for men and women. For instance, one small,

They stressed the need for constant security in the area and the recruitment of an individual with the management expertise to manage the facility and effectively handle the hospitality-related functions of the facility. Tiwai Island is one of the biggest islands in Sierra Leone and sits on a 120 hectare of land between Koya Chiefdom in the Kenema District and Barrie in Pujehun. The Island has over 700 plant species, 350 different types of birds, and various other primates. It is one of the protected forest reserves in the country that has a lot to offer in terms of tourist attraction. These protected forest reserves across the country are continuously challenged by the lack of much-needed social amenities like transportation, electricity, and water to attract tourists. AS UNIVERSITY STUDENT BRUTALIZED…
CHRDI DIRECTOR LASHES OUT As University Students Brutalized By A.M. Fatoma Sierra Leone Police SLP) under the leadership of IG Sovula have once again demonstrated their unprofessionalism, lack of understanding of trending issues and above all their brute force in handling issues of public order and safety. On Tuesday 13th April, 2021 IPAM students had a right to assemble peacefully, and they were assembling peacefully. The police came and instead of facilitating the peaceful protest, they shot at students. The police didn’t understand and could not understand that students were protesting about issues affecting their future. It is a challenge because what the police should have done was to first find out what went wrong and then negotiate a settlement. The Police Act 1964, Act No. 7 of 1964 , Section 4 states the general duties of the Police Force, which include detection of crime, apprehension of offenders, preservation of law and order, protection of property and enforcement of all laws and regulations with which the Police Force is charged. The college administration’s negative attitude towards the students is unfair and unprofessional. The role of student (s) is to gather knowledge and wisdom and must not waste his/her precious time carelessly. He/she must submit him/herself to the rules of discipline to build a civilized society. A DOCTOR PROTEST
…AND APC FUMES A Doctors Protest Sierra Leone junior doctors have begun an indefinite strike following an assault on Tuesday 13THApril 2021 against one of their members at the main referral Connaught Hospital in Freetown. Dr Catherine Jackson-Cole was assaulted allegedly by people including senior health ministry officials who tried to stop her from filming a protest by cleaners who’ve themselves been on strike for over a week, making Connaught look like a garbage dump. The cleaners have not been paid for almost a year by a contractor who says he’s not received his money from the Health Ministry for 15 months. Now the junior doctors say they won’t return to work unless the assaulters who allegedly include the country’s Deputy Health Minister, Chief Medical Officer and the Permanent Secretary resign and the sanitary condition at the hospital is improved. The minister and other senior government officials are presently trying to talk her out of pursuing legal redress. In a social media video that went viral yesterday, National Secretary General of the APC, Foday Osman Yansaneh is heard saying that the SLPP has gone too far in brutalizing the people of this country and that he is warning them to desist or face the wrath of the people one day. Â
